| READ (Reading Enrichment and Development) New Orleans is a dynamic
early literacy program built around movement, music,
acting, art, and themed activities. Through creative
play, children develop their skills and bring books
and language into their daily lives. |
 |
Literacy Beginnings
These classes, designed for children aged 12 months to 6 years, promote language exploration and a foundation for reading through fingerplays, songs, sign language and books. Aware of child development, we plan classes around the interests and abilities of the different age groups.

Creative Writing
In this class, designed for 6-8 year olds, we explore “the Reading-Writing Connection” through creative writing with fun, imaginative prompts.

Spanish R.E.A.D.
This class, designed for 3-5 year olds, is a gentle introduction to Spanish and requires no previous experience. Taught by Yanina Valdos, it
allows students to focus on new vocabulary and conversational techniques, all in the fun, educational style of R.E.A.D!

| Each
week’s classes revolve around a different
theme; themes include Dinosaurs, Pirates, and Earth
Day. We read about the theme, act it, sing it, dance
it, and even eat it for snack (pudding “dirt”
and gummy worms when we’re reading about gardens)! |
